UC Merced Extension Course Proposal

When an instructor wishes to create a new UC Merced Extension course, a course proposal should be submitted to the Extension Dean for approval. The course proposal will first be reviewed by Extension staff.  If there are questions regarding the proposal, the originating instructor will be contacted as soon as possible.  Once the Extension Dean approves the course, and obtains any additional required approvals, the instructor will be notified.  If you are ready to submit your New Course Proposal, please click 'Next Page.'

Course Scheduling Needs
Extension courses may range from a single meeting to a standard semester-long course.  Please identify the duration, preferred scheduling format for the course and the total number of contact hours.
Examples:  The course is eight weeks long and meets one day per week for four hours per meeting, for a total of 32 hours.  Or, the course is one day and meets for six hours.  or the course is a semester course and meets for lecture once per week for four hours, for  total of 60 hours.        



Enrollment Needs
Extension courses are usually open to anyone who wishes to enroll in the course and as such, there are typically not course requisites.
